The MSPP Library is an information and service referral center designed to support the research needs of the students and faculty. The library maintains a core collection of books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, psychological testing kits, and newsletters. Comprehensive interlibrary loan services, computer services, and online reference databases are also available. The library services reflect MSPP's commitment to teaching students how to obtain information effectively.

Bibliographic instruction in library research methods is offered on a continuing basis. The Librarian frequently meets with students individually and counsels them on research strategies to follow in finding materials for class work and doctoral projects. Formal bibliographic instruction is also offered each semester in a small group session focusing on both library and research skills.

MSPP is committed to the continuing acquisition and development of computer information resources in its library. The library supports current online subscriptions to PsycInfo, PsycArticles, and Ebsco Host—a full text database. The MSPP community also has access to the following online databases: Medline, Expanded Academic Index, and Health Reference Center. Additionally, the library houses computer programs such as word processing, SPSS and the Rorschach Scoring Program.

Through a cooperative resource sharing network a full range of interlibrary loan services are available to the students and faculty. Books and periodicals can be ordered from most major libraries in the United States. In addition, the MSPP Library has a formal affiliation agreement with the Harvard Medical School Library (Countway). The library is also a referral center for more specialized research that may be outside the domain of psychology. The Librarian maintains ongoing communication with other academic and special librarians in the Boston area in order to guide students to the best collections to meet their informational needs.
