FOr Entering Students

Dean of Students Office

Welcome, entering student!

We are looking forward to your becoming a part of our community. At this time, we would like to introduce ourselves as Dean of Students and Associate Dean of Students and describe how you might use us in the future.

Our role is to facilitate, troubleshoot, and triage. MSPP's entire community of advisors, teachers, administrators and staff function to serve students. Therefore the Deans become involved when there are issues which have not been addressed sufficiently, which fall between the cracks, which are particularly problematic or crisis laden, or when you might simply be uncertain about where to go or what to do about something affecting your education. Additionally, Dean Hopkins is responsible for your introductory Foundations Week/Day and oversees the first year class throughout your first year with us.

The Student Coordinating Committee works together with us to plan relevant programs in response to student need. We are a small community, so you shall also see us in our other roles as advisors and teachers.

The quickest way to begin a communication with us is by e-mail. All faculty can be reached this way (first name underscore last name @ mspp.edu). We check e-mail daily during the week, so if you do not hear back from either of us within a day or so, e-mail again. Nearly all MSPP information is conveyed by e-mail so it is critical to check your email regularly. Office hours are posted on our door, so that you will know when to reach us directly. One or the other of us is available Monday through Friday morning.

Enjoy the excitement as you begin graduate school, and anticipate a lively learning experience. Once again, welcome to MSPP.
