The 10th annual lucero 5k run A great SUCCESS!

On Sunday, September 25th, under very sunny skies, MSPP students, faculty and staff came together with the family of Cynthia Lucero, her friends, former running coaches and numerous area runners, to remember Cynthia Lucero and raise funds toward the program created in her name. The Run, which had 146 registered runners, raised some $8,000 towards scholarships and student travel for MSPP’s Lucero Latino Mental Health Program (LMHP).

The Run was preceded by a breakfast honoring Cynthia’s legacy, featuring faculty who knew Cynthia at MSPP and two LMHP students, Wendy Ramirez and Lorin Weidman. Cynthia’s sister Alexandra Stirling and her former running coach, Rick Muhr, shared memories of Cynthia and expressed gratitude to MSPP for finding such a dynamic way of keeping her legacy alive.

Sponsors of the Run included Hyde Park Savings Bank , Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Foundation, Get in Shape for Women, Whole Foods, Fresh City and Roche Brothers. We thank all runners and volunteers who participated in making this a moving and enjoyable event, including Coco and Cappy, Eden Gudonis’s fundraising pups!
