Signs of Communication

Designed for Babies from 2 months to pre-verbal with parent or caregiver.

This early sign language course introduces up to 100 American Sign Language signs that serve to help babies better communicate their needs while reducing both crying and frustration. This 5-week series will:

  • Demonstrate the benefits and research behind using sign language as an early form of communication
  • Teach parent or caregiver how to teach baby to sign
  • Provide modeling of proper signing by the facilitator with each pair

Sheryl White, Instructor

Sheryl WhiteSheryl White is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, Baby Signer, Reiki Master and mother of three. Her background includes a B.A. in Psychology and Corporate Classroom Trainer. She has received specialized Infant Massage training from the International Association of Infant Massage and she is a Certified Instructor of Joseph Garciaís International Sign 2 Me Presenters Network, a babies and toddlers signing program. She has been teaching classes to parents, teachers, professionals and caregivers since 1999. Her role in these classes is to facilitate and help strengthen the connection between infant and caregiver through early communication and a heightened sense of listening.
