MSPP celebrates Pride Month in June. “It Gets Better"
Last month, in honor of Haitian Flag Day, MSPP held several important events. On May 5th, in collaboration with the Haitian Mental Health Network, MSPP sponsored
Dr. Fran Mervyn, Dean of Students at MSPP and
Dr. Gemima St. Louis,
President of the Haitian Mental Health Network
In addition to the conference, MSPP hosted an art exhibit “When Our Brushes Shook” a collection of Haitian Art formed in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquake. The show raised $10,000 for local artists and the artists in the city of Jacmel, whose lives and work were devastated by the disaster. The Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachustetts and MSPP collaborated to help “revive” this community by exposing the public to the beauty and resilience of the Haitian community through art. Read about the exhibit here.
