Alternative Loan Programs

Upon request an Alternative Loan Comparison chart will be mailed with Stafford Loan Application materials in the spring. For alternative loans, no FAFSA is required. The student will contact the lender directly and follow their requirements.

TERI Alternative Loan Program

The Education Resource Institute (TERI) is a private, non-profit corporation offering higher education financing. TERI loans enable credit-worthy families to borrow from $500 up to the cost of education, less any financial aid received, for each year of education. There are no income restrictions to qualify for these loans. Eligibility is calculated by a complete debt-to-income ratio and credit check.

EXCEL Education Loans enable credit-worthy families to borrow from $500 up to the cost of education, less any other financial aid awards.

CitiAssist Loans

CitiAssist loans are credit-based loans that may be used to supplement other forms of financial assistance. They are available to US Citizens or permanent resident students who are enrolled at least half-time (6 credits or more). Students can borrow up to $15,000 annually on their own signature if they meet minimum credit standards that are established by Citibank.
