Admissions Process—Accepting an Offer

Subsequent to interviews, the Admissions Committee recommends to the Director of Admissions those applicants who should be offered admission to the program. Notifications of admission, waitlist and rejection are released no later than the fourth week in February. All decisions are final. The school is unable to respond to individual requests regarding decisions.

Accepting an Admissions Offer

In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the American Psychological Association (APA), admitted candidates are expected to respond to our offer by the Uniform Response Date of April 15, although earliest notification is desired. Applicants who accept the offer of admission must submit the required acceptance deposit of $1000.00 by April 15 to secure a place in the program. This non-refundable deposit will be applied to the first semester’s tuition. Soon after each new student is assigned a faculty advisor. The advisor-advisee match is based upon a number of criteria such as: the student’s area of interest, experience, personal qualifications and background.

Every student must also select a date and time to meet with the Director of Training to begin the search for a first year practicum field site. Sites include a variety of settings including but not limited to outpatient clinics, community health centers and hospitals (click here for field placement details). All applicants who accept the offer of admission are expected to enter the program in September of that same year.

Deferral Policy

Petitions for deferral are submitted to the Director of Admissions. They are granted only in exceptional conditions. If a deferral is granted, it will be for one year only. This means that the candidate must follow procedures to begin studies in the fall semester next year. Two partial payments are required in order to hold a place in the program. These payments are applied to tuition when the student enrolls in the program.
