Applying Concurrently to the Leadership Psychology Program and other MSPP Programs

The Leadership Psychology Program, the PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology, the Counseling Psychology Program, the School Psychology Program, and the Applied Psychology in Higher Education Student Personnel Administration Program involve different graduate experiences, specializations, and career trajectories. It is possible, however, that your interests align with more than one program.

If applying to more than one program, the online application affords the option to select an additional program. Please note: this online application and all application materials must be received at MSPP on or before the earliest application deadline date. The application review process for each program is separate.

Please take note of the following when applying to more than one program:

  • The application fee if applying to more than one program is $75.
  • Your Application Essay should include every program to which you are applying.

If you are offered and accept admission to another MSPP program, your Leadership Psychology Program application will be considered withdrawn. Similarly, if you accept the offer of admission to the Leadership Psychology Program, your application to any other MSPP program is withdrawn.

Selection of Candidates

Completed application packets are thoroughly reviewed by members of the MSPP faculty. Each component of the application is an important part of the process. An undergraduate and/or graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher is expected. Test scores are one component of the total application and so there are no cutoff scores. We generally look for a combined score of 1150 or above on the Verbal and Quantitative Sections of the General GRE (approximately 310 on the REVISED GRE) and at least 4.0 on the Analytical Writing Section. Applicants who are non-native speakers of English may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to provide evidence of their level of English as it is spoken and written in North America. TOEFL combined scores (listening, structure and written expression, speaking and reading) need to be 637 (paper-based), 270 (computer based), 110 (internet based) or higher.
