Licensure

MSPP is listed as a Designated Program in Clinical Psychology by the Council for the National Register of Health Service Providers, and graduates are eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Graduates meet the educational requirements for licensure in Massachusetts and health service provider certification of the Board of Registration of Psychologists in Massachusetts. Graduates are eligible to sit for the licensing examination following completion of the mandatory post-doctoral clinical requirements. Although each state determines its own requirements for licensing psychologists, many MSPP graduates are licensed in other states. Current copies of the licensing laws for all 50 U.S. states and Canada are available to students through the Field Education Office.  Students who are planning to practice outside of Massachusetts are advised to check carefully into the requirements for those jurisdictions.
