PREVENTIVE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
The goal of this 2 credit course is to introduce students to the field of prevention and mental health promotion. The course will follow a systems/ecological framework to help students understand the multiple levels that need to be considered when developing, implementing, and evaluating prevention programming. Issues of diversity and cross-cultural considerations, as well as political and structural issues that impact mental health will also be critically examined.
Prerequisite: CLI PY521.
