(2 credits)

This course introduces the student to classical and operant conditioning, learning theory, and information processing theory. Topics include: factors affecting establishment and maintenance of involuntary physiological responses and overt voluntary behaviors, environmental control of behavior, the role of cognition, contiguity and base rates in the development of conditioned responses, information processing and neutral networks. The relationship between learning theory, education, and clinical practice will be examined through case examples. Open only to students in the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology.

Prerequisites: CLI LS659, CLI PS600, and CLI PS603.
