Clinical Psychopharmacology (MS) Program
Policies & Procedures
Audit Policy
Some students may choose to pursue individual courses and not plan to enroll in the two-year program. These students should apply to the program and indicate their academic plan and rationale. They may be admitted to individual courses on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the director and instructor and based on class size. These students may obtain continuing education credits instead of academic credits.
Grading
Courses are graded on a Credit/No Credit basis. Grades are determined by the examination administered at the conclusion of each of the courses. Students must achieve a Pass in all course work. If a student does not pass a course, the student will have a second opportunity to take the examination and pass. If the student is not able to accomplish this objective, the student will have the option of reviewing the course on our Web site. The student can only proceed in the program at this juncture with the successful achievement of a Pass in the course. Examinations will be administered in the interim period between the conclusion of a course and the beginning of a new course. Examinations will be primarily take home or administered online.
Waivers
Due to the rapid proliferation of knowledge in the neurosciences and in human physiology, it is not the program's policy to routinely allow for the waiver of course work in the basic sciences. In many cases, students will be one or more decades beyond their original course in anatomy, physiology, or other basic science and would clearly benefit from an update and review. In rare cases, when the relevant course work has been completed in the past five years, the student may consult with the director concerning a waiver. The student must then pass the course examination in lieu of taking the course. A $25 waiver fee plus a $25 examination fee will be assessed
Witdrawal Refund Policy
Students who withdraw from the program receive a tuition refund according to the following schedule:
- Before the first day of class: 100% of the tuition collected
- After the first weekend of class: 85% of the tuition collected
- After the second weekend: 70% of the tuition collected
- After the third weekend: 50% the tuition collected
- After the fourth weekend: no refund the tuition collected
Please note that the $75 application fee and the $300 enrollment deposit are non-refundable. Please also note that the Board of Trustees meets in January of each year to set the tuition and fees for the following academic year.
