Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology PROGRAM (MA)

Letter from the Director

Organizations and businesses depend upon their employees for their productivity and quality.  In these days of mergers, acquisition, downsizing, and increased production, resource persons who can conduct organizational assessments, build teams, manage change, identify and intervene with work process problems, and respond to individual and system needs are critical parts of organizational life.  Productivity is lost, “human capital” is taxed and, potentially, the mission is missed by systems that fail to attend to the human dimension of their work.

This, thirty credit, Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology trains professionals to function as change agents, coaches and consultants for business and organizations.  The blended curriculum is accessible to working professionals and those with families.  This rich learning experience is geared to be completed within one calendar year to allow professionals to upgrade their skills with minimal financial and professional disruption.  An experienced “practitioner” faculty combines academic scholarship with years of practical knowledge to create a lively educational experience. Cohort groups create an experiential peer learning environment that fosters personal and professional growth.

All of the programs at MSPP are designed to offer students the best practices in their interest area by combining academic knowledge and professional experience.  The school also has a mission to bring mental health experts to areas of need.  Since most of us spend most of our days in organizations, skilled practitioners who can assist organizations to work more efficiently and productively by taking care of the people who comprise them will, as we say at MSPP, “Meet the need” and “ Make a difference.”

Thank you for your interest in our Organizational Psychology program.
