Media Psychology (MA) Program*

Program Overview

MSPP’s Master’s program in Media Psychology provides students with an understanding of the impact and potential of media technologies for individuals and groups and how media can be utilized for social change and socially constructive purposes across the domains of entertainment, education, business, and government.

The 30-credit, online learning program not only equips students with a broad understanding of the field, but also provides the added skills of using media technologies for socially constructive outcomes.

MSPP program graduates will demonstrate fidelity to values including diversity, learning, integrity, collaboration, access, service, fellowship, and the spirit of inquiry.

Program Outcomes

The program graduates will acquire knowledge and develop skill in the recognized good practices of media psychology work:

  • Examine the 21st century model of media psychology and how people consume and produce information
  • Helping students develop coherent values and ethical standards in the discipline · Utilizing media for social change
  • Understanding how to apply media psychology across different domains
  • Developing skills to contribute, consult, and develop media psychology practices
  • Create a solid foundation in applicable arenas of psychology to media
  • Assess media’s impact on the human experience

*Approval from NEASC for financial aid purposes is pending and will be finalized prior to the program start date.
