Letter from the Program Head

The 21st century requires individuals, groups, communities, and organizations to respond to the rapid changes and ever increasing complexity facing society. The MSPP PsyD program in Leadership Psychology prepares you to deploy yourself within for profit, nonprofit, government, and education settings to create constructive social change. This means going beyond technical solutions to find adaptive means of change that address not only the structural issues of an organization, but also the values, cultures, and beliefs held within such frame works.

This four-year research and practice oriented program prepares 21st century leaders and those who support of leadership development and change. Now more than ever, leaders from all levels and sectors of society are needed to address the increasing complexity and global crises. You will be trained in analytics, management, psychology and leadership. Drawing from theories in learning, positive psychology, sociology, adaptive leadership, and followership, a small annual cohort from across the United States and around the world add their personal and professional experience to work towards creating change.

All of the programs at MSPP are designed combine academic knowledge and professional experience. The programs emphasize practical work which is emphasized in a field placement.

Since most of us spend our days in organizations, skilled practitioners who can assist organizations to work more efficiently and productively by taking care of the people who comprise them will “Meet the need” and “Make a difference” through your involvement with MSPP.
