Forensic Psychology

Forensic & Counseling Psychology Program (MA)

Curriculum

All MA Forensic & Counseling Psychology students are required to take the following foundational courses :

Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy
Life Span Development
Diversity and Cross-Cultural Psychology
Professional Issues and Ethics
ForensicI nternship Seminar I
Forensic Internship Seminar II
Clinical Practicum Seminar I - Helping Relationships I
Clinical Practicum Seminar II - Helping Relationships II
Substance Abuse Evaluation and Treatment
Group Counseling and Psychotherapy
Psychological Appraisal and Assessment
Research and Evaluation in Psychology
Forensic Capstone Project Seminar

Students are are also required to take the following specialized courses:

Behavioral Criminology
Psychology and the Legal System
Consultation and Testimony in Forensic Psychology
Sex Offender Evaluation and Treatment

All Forensic & Counseling MA students are required to complete two years (960 hours) of field work. This consists of a 360 hour practicum in the first year and a 600 hour internship in the second.
