Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching Program

Letter from the Directors

Dear Prospective Student,

If you are seeking a professional career which is gratifying and meaningful, and one in which you will have expanding opportunities, please read on and learn about The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology’s (MSPP) Graduate Certificate Program in Executive Coaching.

Executive coaching is a multi-billion dollar, rapidly growing field.   Professionals with diverse backgrounds are finding new and exciting career opportunities.  The majority of businesses in this country provide executive coaching to their leaders and the demand is increasing.  The reason is simple.  The return on the investment for organizations (ROI) is profound.   Industry research has found that the return is about 600% or a 6 to 1 return on each dollar spent for coaching.  Furthermore, organizations, and their executives who receive coaching, report increased productivity, quality of work, customer satisfaction, shareholder value, and executive and employee retention.  Organizational climate and functioning is also positively impacted by executive coaching with reports of increased employee satisfaction, better communication, improved working relationships, and greater teamwork.

The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) is a leader in the field for educating and training executive coaches and in preparing professional coaches to make this kind of difference in organizations

With this Certificate, our graduates re-enter the workforce well positioned to consult to organizations and to coach individuals.  Some graduates provide career development and advancement to their clients. Others assist in organizational development and improve team performance, while others work with senior executives to help build leadership capabilities.  Graduates typically become internal consultants or work “externally” to organizations in independent private coaching practices.

With the increasing demand for high level coaching, organizations are scrutinizing more closely who is hired to coach their leaders.  Also, as the field grows and matures, the demand for more highly trained and professional coaches is rising.  There is an international effort to raise the standards of executive coaching and the qualifications for the coaches offering the services.

As a member of the Graduate School Alliance for Executive Coaching ( GSAEC www.gsaec.org) , MSPP is in a leadership position both nationally and internationally, and is setting high standards for the education and practice of executive coaching.  The training we offer exceeds these standard and is rigorous, applied, and at the graduate level.

We hope that we have provided you information about the importance, as well as the opportunities, associated with becoming an Executive Coach.  The value of pursuing your training here at MSPP should be clear.  Please find more program specific information here on our web pages.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
