Counseling Psychology (MA) Program

Concentration in Spirituality & Mental Health

Students who complete the Spirituality & Mental Health concentration will:

  1. Learn the theoretical foundations of psychospirituality and how the basic tenets of the major philosophical and religious traditions can be brought to bear on psychological development, health, healing, and a positive psychology.
  2. Learn how to help counseling and psychotherapy clients examine their spiritual and religious concerns; heighten their awareness of these issues have impacted their development and functioning; and use their spiritual resources constructively in the service of growth. 
  3. Acquire fundamental knowledge and skills related to the practice of spiritually-oriented counseling and psychotherapy
