Concentration in Community Mental Health

Students who complete the Community Mental Health concentration will:

1. Acquire foundational knowledge about the epidemiology of mental illness and the major contemporary methods for its investigation and reporting.
2. Acquire knowledge about community mental health theory and techniques, including methods and strategies for prevention, consultation, education, outreach, and crisis intervention across a variety of situations and systems.
3. Learn about systems theory, the culture of organizations, and models of mental health consultation.
