Course Descriptions

Integrating Spirituality into Counseling

Students will be encouraged to know themselves, their strengths and biases in regard to their spiritual/religious lives.  They will study the concepts of transference and counter-transference and participate in exercises involving empathic listening and guided interventions. They will learn how to help clients bring up their spiritual and/or religious concerns, develop a greater awareness of how these issues have impacted on their functioning and then assist them in utilizing their spiritual resources in a constructive, growth enhancing fashion.
