Counseling Psychology (MA) Program

Concentration in Child, Adolescent & Family

Students who complete the Child and Adolescent elective concentration will:

  1. Learn about normal child development, child psychopathology, and some of the major means and methods of child and adolescent treatment.
  2. Learn about and review critically the major contemporary theoretical and psychotherapeutic approaches to working with family systems.
  3. Learn about children and adolescents with special needs, the types of difficulties that require special education, and the types of programs and services available.
