This program will cover the administration and scoring of the new 4th edition of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV) along with a preview of the Wechsler Memory Scale IV. Participants will learn how: the clinical utility of the WAIS-IV has been enhanced; the WAIS-IV has been made more developmentally appropriate; new measures of fluid intelligence, working memory, and processing speed have been added; psychometric properties have been improved to reflect changes in demographics; ease of administration has been enhanced. Participants will learn which subtests have been added, changed or dropped and why. They will have the opportunity to practice applying the WAIS-IV to clinical examples. Participants are assumed to have some familiarity with the WAIS-III. Dr. Entwistle is a psychologist who has taught at the graduate level for 16 years He maintains an independent practice and performs independent pediatric neuropsychological evaluations. Dr. Entwistle is an Assessment Consultant for Pearson, formerly known as Harcourt Assessment—The Psychological Corporation. |
