| Description: |
The purpose of this five day program is to familiarize professionals with strategic assessments and interventions for acute trauma/stress management situations. Program content will include definitions and reactions to traumatic exposure; comprehensive acute stress management; the ten stages of acute stress management; and secondary/vicarious stress effects on providers. Characteristics of stressors, interventions, and appropriateness of fit/situation will be emphasized. Protocols will be presented for children, adolescents, families, groups and systems. Participants may enroll in the program either for CE credit or for academic credit.
The opportunity for certification in Acute Stress Management will be available for those interested in becoming part of an international stress management group. |
