| Description: |
This program will address key topics in psychoeducational assessment and provide a venue to analyze case material, including developmental history; cognitive, neuropsychological and educational test results; and observational and response-to-intervention data. It is designed to help school psychologists, child psychologists and pediatric neuropsychologists integrate complex psychoeducational assessment data at an advanced level. Exemplar cases will be provided by the instructor, and participants will bring in their own case material to discuss. Topics to be covered include: ADHD/inattention; non-verbal learning disabilities; executive function—components and educational implications; and assessment of written expression. There will be five monthly meetings, with each meeting including a review of a special topic followed by related case study presentation and discussions. Attendance at all five sessions is mandatory. Participants must be in professional positions or graduate level internships that require assessment of children. Participants must have participated in Advanced Psychoeducational Assessment or a similar assessment program/seminar, however, prior participation in the program: Special Topics in Psychoeducational Assessment: A Case Study Approach, while helpful, is not a prerequisite. |
