| Description: |
Contrary to popular misperceptions, adults with Asperger’s can and do enter into long term relationships often with non-Asperger’s partners. However, little is known about the special challenges of these relationships and the impact of the relationship on the parties involved. Hans Asperger predicted relationship difficulties based on what he knew about the syndrome. Working with such couples requires bridging or at least understanding their differing emotional needs and communication styles and validating the complexity of the situation for those affected. |
