Date: Saturday, November 1, 2008
Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Program No: C468
CE Credits: 4
Tuition: $85
Instructor: Joan Klagsbrun, Ph.D.
Location: MSPP
Description: Focusing, first described by the Philosopher Eugene Gendlin, has 40 years of research behind it which demonstrates its effectiveness in bringing about personal change. It can be easily integrated into psychotherapy, counseling or coaching. Focusing invites people to go beyond talking about their problems to get a fresh felt sense of an issue, which lies below concepts and emotions. The Focusing process often leads to a reduction of stress, and to people finding fresh insights and solutions to long-standing problems. It helps clients find answers that they simply can’t get to through the intellect alone. In this workshop you will experience the Focusing method and will hear about its applications for working with clients who are dealing with blocks, making difficult decisions, coping with the stress of an illness, or simply wanting to connect with their feelings - without getting overwhelmed by them.
