Fran is on the faculty at MSPP where she teaches community psychology and mental health consultation. She has both a bachelor's degree in nursing and a doctorate in psychology. Her first interest in menopause came when she chose this topic for her undergraduate thesis in 1961. Her continuing interest in the interconnection of mind-body led to the pursuit of her doctorate. Dr. Mervyn directed Human Relations Service in Wellesley, the first community mental health center in the nation. She is involved in consultation and education regarding the range of life crises. Currently, she is in private practice with individuals and couples in Newton. She is the co-author (with Phil Rich, Ed.D.) of The Healing Journey Through Menopause. |
