Jerome Abarbanel, PhD
An organizational consultant and coach specializing in the areas of Organization Effectiveness, Leadership Development, and Human Resources Systems and Processes. Has worked in a variety of Employee and Executive Development positions in firms as GTE, Dun & Bradstreet, Citibank and State Street Corp.

David Barlow, PhD
David H. Barlow received his PhD from the University of Vermont in 1969 and has published over 500 articles and chapters including close to 50 books and clinical manuals, mostly in the area of emotional disorders and clinical research methodology. The book and manuals have been translated in over 20 languages, including Arabic, Mandarin, and Russian.

He was formerly Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at Brown University and founded clinical psychology internships in both settings. He was also Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Currently, he is Professor of Psychology, Research Professor of Psychiatry, and Director of the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University.

In addition to receiving over 30 professional honors and awards, he was Chair of the American Psychological Association Task Force of Psychological Intervention Guidelines, was a member of the DSM-IV Task Force of the American Psychiatric Association, and was a Co-Chair of the Work Group for revising the anxiety disorder categories. He is also a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology and maintains a private practice.

Peter Berenson, CPA, Chair of Board
C.P.A. and business advisor for thirty years. Previous board positions for other not for profit organizations is relevant to current board position at MSPP. This enables him to bring a business and financial perspective to board issues and to help ensure fiscal responsibility within the organization.

Stanley I. Buchin, PhD
An Associate Professor at BU and Chairman of Academic Policy Committee of its Metropolitan College. He spent almost 30 years as a management consultant with Applied Decisions Systems, as President. He has taught at various universities and is chair of the MSPP Long-Range Planning Committee.

Edmund U. Cohler
Founder and former CEO of CSP, Inc., a NASDAQ company engaging in computer software and hardware development for signal processing. His skills include fiscal, developmental and marketing aspects of a small organization. MSPP Board member for 17 years.

Eugene D’Angelo, PhD
President of the Massachusetts Psychological Association, Chief of Psychology at Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School. He brings a demonstrated awareness about pre and post doctoral training in psychology, standards regarding clinical service delivery; teaching and work on NIMH funded research initiatives.

Shani Dowd, LCSW
Director of Clinical Cultural Competency Training at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, BU University School of Medicine. Faculty member at Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology at BU. Extensive experience with cultural groups.

Joshua Eagle, BA
Joshua is a student at MSPP whose clinical interests include child and adolescent mental health, dialectical behavior therapy, and organizational dynamics. Prior to entering MSPP, Joshua worked for several publishing companies as a writer and editor. Additionally, Joshua has served as a board consultant to several non-profit organizations in the Boston area.

Richard I. Freedman, MEd
President of Webster Spring for 10 years, Executive Vice President of Webster Spring for 10 years, Harvard University Senior Gifts Officer, Harvard School of Education 1992-1996.

Paul Haran, PhD
He has been an MSPP Board member since 1987 and is Chair of the Finance Committee. He is Director of Investments at Boston College and is responsible for all University funds including the BC Endowment.

Charles Hogan, PsyD
Dr. Hogan is a 1989 graduate of MSPP, an active alumnus, and has distinguished himself by developing a very successful and well-respected private group practice in Needham, MA He has been very active in gift-giving campaigns, being a Founding Member of the Assumption College Parent’s Committee and a member of the President’s Council.

Betty Kaufman, JD
Ms. Kaufman is a very successful business person and attorney in the metropolitan Boston area. She has held a variety of positions in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. She was also very involved in political activities, having served in a variety of positions during the Carter Administration. Her focus is on organizational financial development, marketing, career development, and the legal challenges facing non-profit organizations.

Paul Lipsitt, LLB, PhD
Psychologist, Diplomate in forensic Psychology at BU Student Mental Health Services. He has taught and conducted research at BU and Harvard Medical School and is a Fellow of APA and the American Psychological Society.

Samuel J. Moncata, PsyD
He is an Attending Psychologist at McLean Hospital and is currently Director of The Center for LifeSpan Development. He has been a faculty member at MSPP since 1994 and serves as faculty representative to the Board of Trustees.

Lise Motherwell, PsyD
Dr. Motherwell is a 1992 graduate of MSPP. While a student and during the subsequent years as an alumna, she has been active on a variety of committees, including the Long Range Planning Committee. She is currently on the faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Is President of the Northeast Society for Group Psychotherapy, and is a former Treasurer of the Massachusetts Psychological Association. She has considerable knowledge in the areas of organizational financial planning and in Psychology training.

Kurt R. Redfield, MBA
Kurt is the Chief Financial Officer of the software company Neartek. He holds an MBA from Columbia University, and a BA in philosophy from St. John's College in Annapolis, MD.

The Honorable Michael F. Rush
He is a JD candidate at the New England School of Law and is currently a State Representative at the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He serves on many committees including Commerce and Labor, Judiciary and Public Service. He is a Delegate to the Council of State Governments, Member of Intergovernmental Affairs Committee and Homeland Security Advisory Group. Boston Legislative Delegation Treasurer. House of Representative Historian.

James Stellar, PhD
Dean, College of Arts & Sciences at Northeastern University. He is trained in behavioral neuroscience and maintains active research. He’s been on the MSPP Board of Directors for two years and his particular interests are in Development, Diversity and Academic Administration.
