Davis Wimberly, EdM
Davis Wimberly, EdM, specializes in supporting college students. With a particular interest in working with those pursuing lives in the arts and human services, Mr. Wimberly works to create environments that foster transformative learning and development through his adaptive leadership and integrative approach to educating the whole person. While his focus always centers on the student, his professional roles are diverse.
With a background as a board-certified music therapist working in various healthcare settings, Mr. Wimberly holds adjunct faculty positions at Northeastern University and Lesley University, teaching courses on the neurological and physiological effects of music and the clinical use of music in psychotherapeutic settings. As a musician and therapist he developed his improvisatory style of working with organizations and individuals.
Additionally, Mr. Wimberly has experience with a wide range of enrollment and student affairs endeavors in higher education. Through his current work as Assistant Director of Admissions at Berklee College of Music, he recruits and counsels prospective students and their families, helping these musicians make a smooth transition to college life. He also leads several initiatives in support of the comprehensive enrollment strategy, involving the management of college deans, vice-presidents, faculty, department chairs, students, alumni, and other administrators.
Mr. Wimberly has broad interests and enjoys collaboratively learning with his students while helping them pursue their unique goals. He holds a master’s degree in Human Development & Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music.
