Erlene Rosowsky, PsyD

Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology

Dr. Erlene Rosowsky is a licensed psychologist and past-president of Needham Psychotherapy Associates, LLC. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of emotional problems at middle-age through later life. Specific interests are personality in older age, health and aging, and the older couple.

Dr. Rosowsky divides her time between clinical practice and professional and community education. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, and is affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Needham Campus. She is a core faculty member at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and is Director of their Center for Mental Health and Aging. Dr. Rosowsky is a Fellow in the Gerontological Society of America. In 2011, she was named a Fulbright Specialist in Global/Public Health.

Dr. Rosowsky is well-published in the professional literature, and is a popular national speaker and workshop leader for both professional and lay groups. She serves as Chair of the Generations editorial board and wrote a column, "Speaking of Aging", for the Journal of Retirement Planning.

Kate King is a 4th Year PsyD student who has been doing research with Dr. Erlene Rosowsky for the last few years. Their research projects have resulted in two poster presentatiations, one at APA last summer, and another at the Gerontological Society of America's annual conference this November in Atlanta. The upcoming poster at GSA is entitled "Relationships between Big Five Personality Traits and Marital Satisfaction in Long-Term Marriages."

Dr. Erlene Rosowsky, MSPP Clinical Doctoral Faculty, was invited to the Netherlands for a return Fulbright visit after completing her initial work in August. Dr. Rosowsky, recipient of a serial grant, is a designated specialist in global public health and will be working at the Department of Old Age Psychiatry. In addition, she will be teaching, doing research and training at the University of Brussels.
