Katje Bressette

Faculty

Katja E. Bressette, MBA, MSW

Katja Bressette is Adjunct Faculty, Organizational and Leadership Psychology Department and very excited to be teaching the Persuasive Media class in the Media Psychology Masters Degree program. She is deeply committed to lifelong learning and sees herself as a facilitator of deep thinking, insight, and learning, rather than an expert-authority.

Katja has over 12 years of experience in the business world, last as Director, Strategic Initiatives for Olson Zaltman Associates, a boutique research and consulting firm that works with framing, metaphors, and insights from neuroscience and behavioral science to effect change. In that role and as a consultant, Katja has worked with Fortune 500 companies and not-for-profit companies all over the globe. She co-founded and edited Deep Dives, a newsletter about the mind and marketing, has contributed to Leading Edge Marketing Research and other publications, and has co-authored Colorword Communication - a book about communicating better with your target audience.

To put the social into the Persuasive Media topic, Katja is currently a student herself, pursuing a Master of Social Work. She is very committed to social and behavior change, ranging all the way from change on an individual level to more global topics.

In her free time, Katja loves to travel. She practices yoga and is an avid video gamer of role-playing games (RPGs). She is very interested in popular online culture (such as reddit) and how it impacts behavior and social change. Katja has lived in Germany, Australia, Canada, France, England, and, since 2004, the US. She has studied in France, Germany, and the UK.
